The Local Government has approved the execution project for the Senior Day Centre to be built in Guargacho. San Miguel de Abona Town Hall has announced that it will go out to tender with a budget of one million euros. The conditions set the deadline for completing this work at one year.
The municipal government presided over by Arturo González has assured that the Guargacho Senior Day Centre «is a priority social facility for the lower area of the municipality». The San Miguel executive has argued that «its implementation will allow the elderly in this part of the geography of San Miguel de Abona to carry out numerous activities every day», focusing on activities for dynamization, «as is being done at the Senior Centre located in the urban area of San Miguel». The aim is to improve the quality of life of the recipients of this infrastructure and its services.
The Guargacho Senior Centre will be located next to the current Domingo Correa Marichal Domingo Chamorro Cultural Centre.
