A potential sexual assault and the medical attention of 129 individuals, primarily due to alcohol intoxication and injuries, were the main incidents on Monday night at the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival, as reported by the City Council.
At the violet point of the Carnival Hospital for women’s care, the professionals working in that facility were called upon to provide information to the National Police regarding a potential sexual assault.
The officers took the young woman to a hospital, following which they initiated proceedings to clarify what had happened. At the moment, no arrests have been made.
During the night, 129 people were assisted by the security and emergency services of the preventive setup, fifty fewer cases than on the same date the previous year. Among them, 104 were adults and 25 were minors; 69 were men and 60 were women.
There were 54 cases of alcohol intoxication, of which 40 were adults and 14 were minors. There were 32 assistance cases for traumas and falls, and thirteen cases of individuals injured by assaults, all adults.
Furthermore, six individuals displayed symptoms of intoxication from the consumption of narcotic substances. In total, 20 people were transported to hospital facilities for diagnostic tests or specialized care.
