SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 10 Feb (EUROPA PRESS) –
According to the City Council, the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival Announcement Parade attracted over 80,000 attendees, marking the commencement of the popular festival as it meandered through the city streets.
The Ni Fú-Ni Fá Afilharmonica kicked off the procession, which saw participation from over 50 groups and featured decorated cars and Carnival floats.
The parade, which commenced after 7:30 p.m., lasted for more than three hours. The traditional route encompassed iconic locations in the capital such as Plaza República Dominicana, Avenida Asuncionistas, Ramón y Cajal streets, Galcerán, Plaza Weyler, Méndez Núñez, El Pilar, Villalba Hervás, and La Marina.
Once more, the Parade route included a designated quiet area, at the level of García Sanabria Park, for individuals with autism spectrum disorder, as well as a restricted space for people with reduced mobility at the intersection of Robayna streets and Méndez Núñez (Orche area).
Furthermore, the recently crowned Queen of the Santa Cruz Carnival, Corina Mrazek, along with her court of honor, took a prominent position in the parade. Similarly, the children’s sovereign, Sofía Rodríguez Navarro, and the Elderly sovereign, María Isabel García, accompanied by other contestants in this category, were also part of the procession.
Adult and children’s murgas, troupes, and musical and choreographic groups infused the procession with their distinctive rhythm and color, amplified by the multitudes of spontaneous individuals adorned in costumes of all varieties.
