The Carnival of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, an internationally recognized celebration, is experiencing one of its biggest days – the Queen’s Gala, a very special morning.
On the carnival stage, the mayor Carolina Darias, along with councilor Inmaculada Medina and artistic director Josué Quevedo, reaffirmed the twinning with the carnivals of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Venice, Barranquilla, and Rio de Janeiro with the iconic figure of their queens.
Valeria Charris, Adriana Peña, Beatrice Raffael, and Juliana Manhäes are the queens of the carnivals of Barranquilla, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Venice, and Rio de Janeiro. Along with still being the Queen of the Carnival of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Lola Ortiz, they will participate in the opening of the gala that will choose the future queen of “The Carnivals of the World.”

For the first time in history, the world’s best carnivals will come together on one stage, and it will be in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. A twinning that will be sealed on the night of Friday, February 9.

All of them have shown their gratitude and excitement for being part of the Queen’s Gala and have agreed that it is a historic event for multiple carnivals of the world to come together and share the culture of each one.
