The Grand Carnival Queen Gala of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in 2024, under the direction for the first time by Josué Quevedo, kicks off this Friday, February 9 at 21:30. Thirteen candidates who aspire to win the crown of the festival will parade on the Belén María stage in La Isleta. The selection gala of the Queen, which can be followed live on LA PROVINCIA and through Televisión Canaria, is much more than a parade of majestic costumes.

Serving as hosts are Daniel Calero and Wendy Fuentes and the show begins with an overture, a musical number in which the queens of several carnivals from around the world –Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Venice (Italy), Barranquilla (Colombia), Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria from last year– will take part.

The candidates will parade in two blocks and there will be performances between blocks. After the candidates parade and while the jury deliberates, there will be more performances. Finally, the coronation will take place.
