SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Feb. 8 (EUROPA PRESS) –
On Thursday, Maritime Rescue successfully rescued 105 migrants who were traveling in two cayucos in the waters of El Hierro and La Gomera, according to sources from the state agency.
In the case of El Hierro, a fishing boat spotted the canoe 78 miles south of the island with 38 people on board. After being assisted by the Helimer 206 and the Guardamar Talía, it was taken to the port of La Restinga.
Similarly, Salvamar Mizar took charge of rescuing another canoe with 67 migrants who were then transported to the port of Playa Santiago, in Alajeró (La Gomera).
