The Youth Department of Arona is driving the Escuela Tenerife Joven project, an initiative of the Tenerife Island Council that promotes the training and professional qualification of young people, gradually imparting them with the skills and competencies required for employment, while sharing their training experiences with the group. The project is designed based on the specific needs of each municipality.
Open to young people aged 16 to 35, Escuela Tenerife Joven offers an opportunity to boost professional growth through tailored training that meets the demands of the labour market. This year, Arona is offering six courses: restaurant and bar waiter (online, from 19th to 23rd February); food handler and food allergies (online, from 11th to 15th March); forklift operator (in person, from 20th to 23rd May); canine training techniques and walking of pets (blended, from 3rd to 7th June); beauty and makeup (in person, from 1st to 5th July); health, nutrition and dietetics (online, from 16th to 20th September); and caring for people with disabilities (online, from 30th September to 4th October);
Rubens Delgado, the Youth Councillor of Arona, highlighted that “we believe that these training programs are of vital importance.” These training actions are related to the acquisition of competencies in personal and professional skills aimed at employment and education in values through non-formal education. This project “meets vital needs of the population aged 16 to 35.”
