SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Feb. 4 (EUROPA PRESS) –
Jorge Alayón, a prominent figure in Socialist Youth, has announced his departure from the political arena, citing personal reasons “in pursuit of tranquility and reconciliation.” He has formally submitted his request to leave the political organization, along with resigning from numerous positions he held within the party.
Alayón, recognized for his tenure as an advisor to former Arona mayor José Julián Mena and his roles in the Executive Commission of the PSOE of Tenerife, has held significant positions within the Socialist Youth, such as the General Secretary in Arona, the Vice President of the Regional Committee, and the delegation to the Federal Committee.
In his resignation letter, Alayón expressed profound appreciation for the over a decade of experience within the organization, describing it as a school of politics and life that has shaped his character and perspective.
However, his decision to depart stems from a waning interest in politics, exacerbated by the political turmoil in Arona. “Politics, despite its positive aspects, has also revealed its darker side in my personal journey,” he remarked.
Alayón emphasized that his disassociation from Socialist Youth of Spain does not signify a renunciation of his socialist principles or his support for the PSOE. He affirmed that he will continue to be a dedicated voter, even if he does not align with all the measures implemented by the current Government of Spain.
Furthermore, he voiced unwavering support for José Julián Mena and the Executive Commission of the PSOE of Arona, stating, “They have been my comrades for a decade and I owe a great deal to them for my personal and political development.”
Alayón’s resignation encompasses stepping down from all the roles he held within the organization. His decision, as he expressed, aims to safeguard “the tranquility that I currently feel and that I am not willing to jeopardize with the animosity and resentment that politics sometimes breeds,” a tranquility he has found after a year without being a member of the PSOE and nine months distanced from political life.
Jorge Alayón González extended gratitude to all those who have accompanied him on his journey, contributing to his growth, and for the understanding and support he received throughout his decade-long experience.
