Today marks the day when, at 5:00 p.m., the Auditorium of Tenerife Adán Martín is all prepared to host a new edition of the Rondallas Contest. This year, a total of eight groups will be participating in the event.
These groups include Orfeón La Paz, Masa Coral Tenerife, La Rondalla Lyric Group, Mamel’s Association, Peña del Lunes 1965, El Cabo Artistic Union, Los Aceviños, Las Valkirias, and Gran Tinerfe. Each of them will showcase their lyrical repertoires on the Auditorium stage within a maximum of 30 minutes.
The jury responsible for deciding the contest prizes in the Interpretation section comprises Pedro Chamorro, a professor of plectrum instruments at the Arturo Soria Conservatory of Music in Madrid, Doctor of Arts, concert pianist, and composer; Celia Laguna Davia, Choral Director, and Professor of Vocal Repertoire at the Federico Moreno Tórroba Conservatory; and Montserrat Giró (Montserrat García Ruiz), a lyrical singer.
As for the Presentation section, it consists of Teresa Hernández Quesada, a textile technician and clothing designer; Rudymar (Rudy del Mar Medina Leal), a Fashion Design graduate; and Mauricio Pérez Jiménez, a professor of Fine Arts specializing in photography and design and a sculptor. During the jury deliberation, the singer Besay Pérez will also be performing.
The journalist Zenaido Hernández will be presenting this edition of the Rondallas Contest, which will be broadcast live by Mírame Televisión, Canal 4 TV, and Ahora TV, as well as by Televisión Canaria, streamed through the website www.rtvc.es and available to watch on demand starting tomorrow, Monday.
