Expressing urgency, the Minister of Children and Youth, Sira Rego, emphasized the need for an immediate response to the reception of unaccompanied migrant minors. She has expressed openness to studying the proposal of the Canary Islands Government to pursue legislative modifications to make distribution among autonomous communities compulsory.
During a joint press conference with the Canarian president, Fernando Clavijo, the minister elaborated on the upcoming meeting between both institutions before the end of the first quarter to explore potential measures.
