Standing out in the Musical Groups competition of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival, Sweet Cane and Moonlight Songs secured the first prizes for Interpretation and Presentation, respectively.
As per the unofficial reports from the City hall, the competition witnessed participation from over a thousand individuals, including Siboney, Nobleza Canaria, Sabor Isleño, Salsabor, Cantares Luz de Luna, Los Yuppies, Chaxiraxi, Teiderife, and Caña Dulce. The event assesses not only the vocal composition of the songs but also the attire and presentation.
Chaxiraxi secured the second prize in the interpretive section, whereas Cantares Luz de Luna claimed the third position.
In the same vein, Sabor Isleño received the second prize. Regarding the Presentation category, Chaxiraxi and Siboney clinched the second and third positions, respectively, while Los Yuppies secured the second place.
Besides, Siboney was honored with the prize for Best Unreleased Song for their composition ‘El Carnaval Always Returns’. Furthermore, the title for the best solo performance was bestowed upon Jénifer Alonso, the vocalist from the group Chaxiraxi, for her rendition of ‘Put us in agreement’.
