“The celebrations in Candelaria this year will not take place, it is very important to avoid concentrations of people, so we recommend extreme care and common sense and therefore, from the Cabildo Security Area we urge the population not to carry out the traditional pilgrimage ”, indicated the Minister of Security, Isabel García.
“The Island Council of Tenerife is not the promoter of this party nor does it have to suspend acts related to it, but it does correspond to convey to the population a message of prudence and precaution in an unpleasant situation and that nobody likes” , has indicated the counselor who noted that “the traditional pilgrimage routes to the summit of the island will be closed from 6:00 p.m. on August 13 to 6:00 a.m. on August 16“
On the other hand, the Cabildo Highways Area will not proceed to close the TF-28, as has been done in other years due to the presence of walkers, since the Candelaria City Council itself has advised against such a pilgrimage.
