Exciting Plans for Your Weekend in Tenerife

Tenerife is brimming with diverse weekend activities, both public and private, dedicated to providing entertainment on the island. Carnival, traditions, and shows are among the captivating options lined up for the coming days, offering delightful pastimes for everyone. Here’s a rundown of the weekend plans:

Culinary Delights

La Florida neighborhood in La Orotava is hosting a communal stew this Saturday, January 27, as part of the popular festivals, declared of Tourist interest of Canary Islands, dedicated in honor of San Antonio Abad and the Virgin of La Esperanza. Additionally, the Livestock Fair, now in its 52nd edition, will also take place on Saturday.

Carnival Extravaganza

The Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival events take center stage this weekend. Saturday will feature musical groups, with the gala kicking off at 8:00 p.m. at the Fairgrounds. Participating groups include Siboney, Nobleza Canaria, Sabor Isleño, Salsabor, Cantares Luz de Luna, Los Yuppies, Chaxiraxi, Teiderife, and Caña Dulce.

On Sunday, don’t miss the Queen’s election gala for the Children’s Carnival, starting at 6:00 p.m. at the Fairgrounds.

Operatic Experience

Enjoy chamber opera presented by Tenerife Opera this weekend, featuring Trouble in Tahiti by Leonard Bernstein. This one-act, seven-scene opera, debuted in 1952 in Massachusetts, depicts Dinah’s disillusionment with her husband Sam, who prioritizes his career and entertainment over family. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. at Tenerife Auditorium.

Captivating Show

Experience Mayumaná’s exhilarating show, Impulse, at the Leal Theater in La Laguna this weekend. Impulse explores the journey of life through rhythmic perspectives, featuring an eclectic mix of music and rhythms from around the world. The artists use their bodies as instruments, creating mesmerizing rhythms and movements that will leave you spellbound. Catch the show on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., and on Sunday at 8:00 p.m. Tickets, priced at 30 euros, are available for purchase at tickety.es.
