SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, January 21. (EUROPA PRESS) –
This Sunday, Maritime Rescue intercepted an irregular vessel near the island of El Hierro in which 65 people of sub-Saharan origin were traveling, as reported by the public body.
The canoe was seen stopped half a mile from La Restinga late in the morning, so the Maritime Rescue Coordination Center mobilized the ‘Adhara’ rescue boat.
Once intercepted, the salvamar accompanied the cayuco to port. While waiting for the final count, there were 54 men, 8 women and 3 minors on board.
