The Tenerife Fire Prevention and Extinction and Rescue Consortium yesterday declared the fire at the composting plant near Parque La Reina extinguished, eight days after the flames began.

Firefighters have been working hard uninterruptedly these days to put an end to a fire that has affected about 3.5 hectares of plant material. Now, it will be up to the owner company to maintain vigilance against possible emissions.
