The Cabildo of Tenerife joins the International Education Day

SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Jan. 20 (EUROPA PRESS) –

Next week, the Cabildo of Tenerife organizes various events to commemorate the International Day of Education, which is celebrated on January 24, such as the celebration of a technical table or visits by schoolchildren to the Tenerife Environmental Complex and the launch of new electric charging points.

Specifically, the Education area will hold a technical panel on Tuesday, January 23, while the Natural Environment, Sustainability and Security and Emergencies area organizes various events on the 22nd and 26th related to waste and energy that have been coordinated by the technical service of Sustainability, Climate Change and Environmental Education.

The Minister of Education and Employment, Efraín Medina, explained that on Tuesday the 23rd the technical education table of the Cabildo de Tenerife will take place: “It will serve to reinforce the commitment we have to the education of the Island. It is a meeting where the technicians from all areas of the insular Corporation to share the work we are doing and where we should go.

For her part, the Minister of Natural Environment, Sustainability and Security, Blanca Pérez, pointed out that they have organized an Environmental Education Week because on the 26th the World Environmental Education Day and the International Clean Energy Day are commemorated, while that the 28th is World Day for the Reduction of CO2 Emissions. “We want to raise awareness among the population from the earliest ages of the importance of having good habits to take care of our environment,” she said.

On Monday, January 22, the 4th grade students of the CEIP San Fernando Duggi will visit the Tenerife Environmental Complex (Arico) through the educational visit program that is integrated into the Tenerife + Sustainable Island Strategy and whose purpose is to raise awareness about the problem of waste, the importance of consumption patterns, promoting selective collection and informing about Tenerife’s waste management model.

For its part, on Friday the 26th, new electric charging points will be put into operation in the facilities of the Natural Environment, Sustainability and Security and Emergencies area located in the Santiago Martín Sports Pavilion.
