The CEO of Suna 2000, the company that manages the composting and recycling plant that burned a week ago in Parque la Reina, insists that “the fire was caused,” as the fire did not start in its facilities, but “in a illegal landfill very close.”

He estimates that between trucks, machinery and material “the losses can reach 12 million euros,” regretting that “the Local Police did not let me take out the machinery and even put handcuffs on me,” he commented on the Cope network.

The Arona City Council, faced with criticism from the CC.OO. firefighter unions, stated yesterday that “from the Corporation’s Security area it was understood that the application of the PEMU was not appropriate from a technical-legal point of view.”
