A cayuco with 99 migrants on board arrived this Friday morning at the port of La Restinga, on the island of El Hierro, escorted by a Civil Guard patrol boat, Maritime Rescue sources inform Europa Press.
The boat was detected by the Civil Guard radar about 1.7 miles south of the island.
In total, 96 men and three women of sub-Saharan origin were sailing and after health care at the foot of the dock, they were found to be in good general health and no transfers to health centers were determined.
This is the second canoe to arrive on the islands this Friday after the rescue of 126 migrants who were sailing in waters south of La Gomera and who were disembarked in the port of Los Cristianos.
