He capital city councilthrough the Municipal Institute of Social Care (IMAS)directed by Councilor Charín González, is bidding for a contract for the design, creativity, realization and production of the drug consumption awareness and prevention campaign for the period of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival“a proposal that is contemplated in the I Municipal Strategic Plan for Social Services and that constitutes an initiative that is argued from the need to generate information and training on this matter for professionals, groups and the population in general,” says the mayor, José Manuel Bermúdez.

Charín González highlights that “this campaign, with a cost of 16,039 euros, IGIC included, will run until February 18, the date on which the Carnival events conclude” and details that “this action is primarily aimed at youth of the municipality in the age group of 14 to 18 years, to the community and educational professionals, to the commercial sector of sale and dispensation of alcoholic beverages, especially linked to these festivals and other carnival spaces such as the group headquarters such as murgas, groups, comparsas, etc.

“The campaign seeks – González advances – to increase the capacity of the general population and of minors and adolescents to make free and responsible decisions regarding drug consumption, with the idea of reducing the number of young people who consume drugs abusive behavior, especially alcohol and tobacco, and delaying the age of initiation of its consumption” and adds that “in addition to trying to educate people by enhancing their abilities, skills and values to maintain responsible relationships regarding their health and prevent the development of addictive behaviors.” .

Finally, Charín González reports that “the contract also contemplates taking into account all the possibilities that technology offers for the personalization of messages, through social networks, platforms, etc.” and concludes by warning that “the “It must be designed in an accessible way, with messages regarding the consumption of drugs and alcohol by minors during the carnival, reinforcing the positive message in relation to healthy values, personal skills and prevention of risk situations related to consumption.”

The supporting report requires that the campaign must respond to two main strategies: influence on the attitudes and perceptions of the audience and the development of personal skills, so it must comply with the principles of diversity, plurality and gender perspective, being inclusive and accessible to all citizens, including, logically, the population with visual and hearing disabilities.
