The president of the Cabildo of Tenerife, Rosa Dávila, stated yesterday that for the advancement of society and the generation of employment, public-private collaboration is “indispensable” and, in this sense, she highlighted the latest unemployment data in Tenerife, from the past. December, “which is the lowest since 2019.” “Therefore, Tenerife’s economy is beginning to show important signs of good health, there are almost 14,000 fewer unemployed people compared to 2019,” she said.

This is how Dávila expressed himself after a meeting held yesterday with the president of the CEOE-Tenerife, Pedro Alfonso. “Hence the importance of public-private projects, of being able to advance in vocational training projects, of those projects where women take a leading role in the transformation of societies, and in this sense we have several projects in collaboration with the CEOE “said Dávila, who highlighted the employer’s Building Future project.

An initiative that tries to “monitor those projects that are strategic for the Island and that are essential for its advancement. And we have proposed monitoring this project on a semiannual basis,” he noted. “In any case, we are taking steps, and we understand that they are in the right direction, to the extent that we see that we are facing the lowest number of unemployed in four years,” he insisted.

The island president also recalled the Council’s commitment to sustainable mobility and, for this reason, “we have strongly opted for free public transport and for eliminating unnecessary trips.”

For his part, Pedro Alfonso valued that the employment data is “reounding” and the result of “public-private collaboration.” Likewise, he indicated that at the meeting they talked about different projects related to employment, crafts or the textile sector, as well as the Island Plan for Sustainable Mobility.

And as for “the infrastructure part of Building the Future, we have asked to continue working to find solutions both here and with financing from the State or the regional government,” he said.

Finally, Alfonso called “to the entire society of Tenerife” to “join these projects, we need a single voice, a single path to the future, and the program that the Cabildo is developing seems more than viable and seems to us “which is appropriate to advance employment.”
