This Tuesday, the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council awarded 46 Carnival stalls at auction, for one of which, an inn in the Plaza de España, the record amount of 65,063 euros has been reached.
The previous record was 50,946 euros, which were paid for the same position last year, the local corporation details in a statement.
The starting prices of the stalls, which are the same as in previous editions of the festival, ranged between 620.08 euros for the cheapest ones and 17,584.84 euros, with which the inns started.
The total amount raised in the auction is 246,331 euros, 35.14% more than in the last edition.
A total of eight positions were deserted and the Autonomous Organization of Festivals and Recreational Activities reserved another 31, to which the commercial firms that sponsor the Carnival will have access after payment of the amount.
The 46 kiosks specialized in the sale of Carnival items, drinks and food awarded in a show of hands auction through the system known as ‘flat bidding’ will be located on Valentín Sanz, Villalba Hervás, La Marina and Castillo streets, as well as in the Plazas de España and La Candelaria.
The Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival 2024 will take place between February 9 and 18 on the street and will be dedicated to Television.
