SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Jan. 9 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The island groups of the Canarian Coalition, Popular and Mixed Party (VOX) in the Tenerife Cabildo will bring a motion to the next plenary session of the corporation in which they will propose the preparation of a master plan for the rehabilitation of the Heliodoro Rodríguez López stadium that contemplates “all actions aimed at carrying out a comprehensive reform”.

Parallel to this, the motion also includes “working on the different actions agreed upon with the user of the facility, CD Tenerife, and thus being able to celebrate the centenary of Heliodoro in the best conditions.”

In the motion, signed by spokespersons Lope Afonso (PP), José Miguel Ruano (CC) and Ana Salazar (VOX), a “commitment is also proposed to increase the budget allocated in 2024 to the Heliodoro Rodríguez López stadium as progress is made.” the specifications of the works files”.

Thus, “if it is necessary to increase the item, the budget will be increased through the pertinent credit modifications. Apart from the commitment that this year the credit can be expanded, it is important to emphasize that the year in which there will be the greatest financial disbursement is 2025, precisely derived from the rhythm imposed by the awarding of the works and their subsequent execution.”

The groups affirm in a joint note that the stadium has been “the protagonist of a multitude of historical events, it is cultural heritage and it is an identity for the chicharreros and for the people of Tenerife, a facility that will turn one hundred years old in 2025.”

Furthermore, from the original stadium, only the old entrance to the Herradura stands, converted into a testimony and memory, and the lower levels of the San Sebastián and Tribune stands are preserved.

The motion of the three groups recalls that after several interventions in the stadium since 2009, “on July 11, 2023, there were debris falls on the façade, which meant emergency works were carried out, finishing them on July 30. November with an amount of 334,823.61 euros”.

PLUMBING AND TOILET WORKS

Currently, he points out, “the plumbing works and the toilet work are being carried out and the structural safety study has been carried out in recent months with the conclusions that the safety of the building is adequate and consequently its safety is certified.” .

However, it is warned of different urgent actions to be carried out, the procedure for which has already begun.

Along these lines, they indicate that in the stadium “constant modernization works must be carried out since there are works that were carried out in the 80s and there is a need for a building such as the Heliodoro and the activity that is carried out requires a program of conscientious and periodic maintenance.

“Without a project, no work can be carried out and today there is no basic or execution project carried out. There is no master plan for the stadium of the works to be carried out, we need a roadmap. Meanwhile, the Sports administrative service is working hard in the projects of urgent works that the stadium needs and preparing the specifications for different files such as the replacement of seats, water supply works to install an additional ring and avoid current breaks, renovation of stadium facilities that require “preliminary study, project and construction management”, state the three groups in their motion.
