And, as the mayor said, Goya went to the Plenary Hall “deceived”. She did it accompanied by her son, and received the homage of all the councilors, standing up, and applauding her presence.

Bermúdez read, also excited, since he said he knew Goya Alonso “from a very young age” the file by which honors and distinctions are awarded to the so-called neighborhood leader. “The meritorious work that Mrs. Gregoria Alonso Jiménez has carried out in Anaga is sufficiently accredited, fighting for decades to improve the quality of life of the residents of all the towns, neighborhoods and hamlets of the Massif; a neighbor committed to the people, the environment and the culture of Anaga ”, the mayor read.

The file of request for honor or distinction was initiated at the request of the La Cumbrecilla Neighbors Association, a request that was adhered to and supported by numerous neighbors and neighborhood representatives of Anaga.

Other measures fought for and achieved by “Goya” were the improvement of roads, tracks, urban transport in the area.

Concerned at all times for the Anaga region to date, it also gets crews of personnel to clean and prepare the roads, to improve access to homes and living conditions of its neighbors and the elderly in Afur and Anaga. During the fateful March 31, she worked hard for her neighbors, Anaga was severely punished by time, so Goya dedicated countless hours to helping people and the recovery of the area
