Gulesserian.| The magic of the Three Wise Men toured every corner of Tenerife yesterday, bringing hope, gifts and distributing lots of candy to the boys and girls of all the municipalities in the multiple parades and events that were held, some of which had to face changes of last moment due to the rain, as was the case in Güímar and Arafo.
Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar arrived in La Laguna in the morning, where they were received at the City Hall by the mayor, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, who gave them the magic keys to the city so that they could enter all the houses to leave their gifts.
In the early afternoon, Their Majesties left for the Plaza del Cristo for the traditional act of adoration of the Child Jesus of the Afflicted. From there, at 5:00 p.m., they rode out on their royal carriages through the main streets of the town.
The little ones in the house enjoyed a parade that this year celebrated its 112th anniversary, in which more than 2,500 kilos of candy were distributed and featured six new floats, pages, musical bands, characters from the Disney world or inflatable figures, among others. Likewise, an orange point was enabled (with sign language interpreters and services for any type of disability) and a noise-free section.
In Los Realejos, Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar also received, first, the keys to the municipality from the mayor, Adolfo González, in the Plaza de La Cruz Santa, and from there each one left in their floats to meet with the delegation and begin the parade, which in Garachico and Puerto de la Cruz began around 6:30 p.m. In the tourist city, more than 15,000 people enjoyed the royal procession through its central streets.
And in La Orotava we had to wait until 8:00 p.m. to see the Three Wise Men, who brought together nearly 30,000 people to enjoy a spectacular parade.
The rain affected the events of some municipalities. Thus, in Güímar the reception of his Majesties was changed, which had to take place on the fighting ground. And in Arafo the water forced the parade to be suspended and the reception for the Kings was also moved. Meanwhile, in Candelaria, more than 15,000 people enjoyed the Night of Dreams, with multiple activities and the royal parade. And in Arona, the Three Wise Men arrived by boat to the Old Pier of Los Cristianos.
