Yesterday the Three Wise Men toured the streets of the capital of Tenerife in a Parade full of light and fantasy, which left from Avenida de Belgium minutes after the scheduled time, seven in the afternoon. An agile and dynamic route, although not without empty spaces during the parade, which ran through the Plaza de la República Dominicana, Avenida Asuncionistas, Ramón y Cajal, Galcerán and Plaza de Weyler, to continue, later, through Méndez Núñez streets, El Pilar and Villalba Hervás in the direction of the Plaza de la Candelaria, where the traditional act of worship of the Child Jesus took place in the Portal of Bethlehem.

From early in the afternoon, the most impatient people were already reserving the first rows at street level with chairs and, close to the start time of the royal procession, there was no room for anyone. More than 120,000 spectators, according to data from the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, gathered for this magical route, which transformed the streets into the center of the little ones’ desires.

A total of 15 floats, two more than last year, and some with live music, along with more than a thousand characters and extras, were part of a multicolor parade in which Disney characters, princesses, fairies, magical stars, stilts, flying horses, giants, inflatable animals and fun letters to Their Majesties came to life to fill with magic a route in which light was the protagonist, illuminating the path of Gaspar, Melchior and Baltasar to the homes of the boys and girls of the island.

A great reception that put the finishing touch to an intense Three Kings’ Eve in which more than 250,000 people gathered in the streets of the capital throughout the day. Morning, afternoon and night filled with the excitement of adults and children to receive Their Majesties of the East. During the Parade, the pages of the Three Wise Men distributed by hand a total of 2,500 kilos of gluten-free candies, in a route that, organized by the Autonomous Organization of Festivals and Recreational Activities (Oafar), passed with few incidents as the parade passed. royal entourage The mayor, José Manuel Bermúdez, thanked the effort made to receive Their Majesties, both in the stadium and in the subsequent Parade, while the Festival Councilor, Javier Caraballero, also expressed his gratitude for the months of work to culminate with a parade that delighted the little ones.

Likewise, in the sectors where a greater number of people were concentrated, special fencing was carried out, to which an area reserved for people with reduced mobility was added at the confluence of Méndez Núñez and Robayna streets, in addition to a silent section that It ran on Méndez Núñez Street, specifically, between Numancia and El Pilar roads, close to a hospital.

However, not all corners of the municipality experienced their magical night, as the residents of the Anaga Rural Park were left without their traditional visit of the Three Wise Men after the district’s decision not to organize the parade this year, according to residents’ complaints yesterday. . A night of disappointing excitement that led to multiple neighborhood complaints. “They have us marginalized and it is unforgivable. We are not sheep, we are people,” they stated.
