Police operation in the ring of La Laguna. FRAN PALLERO

The device launched by the Local Police of La Laguna, the National Police and the Civil Guard to control nightlife in the municipality, especially in the area of Quadrilateral, will gain greater force between this Friday and Sunday.

The Councilor for Citizen Security, Alejandro Marrero, reports that the agents will intensify surveillance beyond the city center to avoid situations of insecurity, bottles and illegal parties during this bridge, in anticipation of agglomerations and to “have knowledge of the organization of mass gatherings through social networks to celebrate Halloween with alcohol ”.

The mayor specifies in a note that about 40 officers participate every day in the operation.

While in the Quadrilateral it will remain the same given “the good results obtained last weekend”, he points out that the presence in other parts of the territory will be reinforced, such as in Pueblo Hinojosa.

“In this urbanization, the celebration of Halloween has become a tradition, which stands out for its family atmosphere and for the large number of people who go out,” he says, but given the expected influx, Alejandro Marrero points out that A team of the Local Police will travel this Sunday to this nucleus of Finca España “to guarantee road safety in this place, limiting traffic and facilitating pedestrian traffic.”

Other special services are also provided in other places, in these cases, “with the main objective of avoiding bottles and illegal parties, which we already know are being planned through ways such as social networks,” he warns.

The same operation will take place in the Quadrilateral as last weekend, although there will be “a greater impact on the objects.”

As this festival is characterized by its costumes, the councilor explains that it will be provided “Special attention” to people who carry items that may be dangerous, “requisitioning them before entering the space.”

This it will also be done with alcoholic beverages and sound devices to “guarantee coexistence in this area of the city center.”

In the immediate environment, in addition, the Civil Guard will carry out drug and alcohol consumption controls.

The mayor thanks all the agents involved for their collaboration and calls for citizen responsibility so that this bridge can be enjoyed “in a safe way.”
