The La Laguna City Council has put out to tender, through a negotiation without advertising, the drafting of the update of the rehabilitation project of the old Santo Domingo convent, for 95,000 euros, as published on the contracting platform.
It is worth remembering that to date five phases of the rehabilitation of this property have already been carried out, and now phases 6 and 7 will be undertaken, which is the last, and which will involve the recovery of the small cloister and the adjoining rooms, as explained sources from the Works and Infrastructure area.
Specifically, they detailed that the tender establishes a period of three months for the drafting of the execution project, which includes a review of the existing facilities and the health and safety study.
Likewise, the City Council estimates that the rehabilitation of the building should be completed maintaining the same criteria as those developed in the first phases of the project. For this reason, the tender is carried out through a contract negotiated without advertising, as it is the same writing team that has made the previous interventions, based on the building’s master plan.
Grant
Once the drafted project is available, the execution works will be put out to tender, which have a budget of three million euros, thanks to a subsidy from the Ministry of Tourism for the 15 World Heritage Cities of Spain. This subsidy includes the drafting of the project and construction management.
Initially, an execution period of 12 to 15 months was estimated for the execution of these two phases, but this forecast will have to be revised as a result of the project update, the aforementioned sources pointed out.
