SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, December 31. (EUROPA PRESS) –

La Orotava will celebrate these days one of the most delicious and anticipated events within the Christmas program, which is the preparation of the great roscón de reyes, the largest in Tenerife. The event, as is tradition, will take place on January 4, on the eve of the visit of Their Majesties the Three Wise Men, starting at 5:00 p.m. on Emilio Luque Avenue, in the La Milagrosa school area.

In this twelfth edition there will be about 500 pieces of roscón, which when joined in a linear way will reach almost 500 meters in length. The dough will be made at the Jovita Bakery facilities, using, among other ingredients, about 300 kilos of flour; more than 50 kilos of orange and various fruit; as well as margarine; butter; sugar; vanilla and lemon. While the Manobuena sweet shop will be in charge of filling the portions using nearly 1,000 kilos of pastry cream. In addition, the sweet will be accompanied by chocolate, distributing approximately 450 liters.

In the portions you can find surprises and gifts donated by businesses in La Orotava. Participants who benefit from these gifts must go to the indicated store to pick them up. There will also be entertainment all afternoon around this commercial area for adults and children.

In addition to characters from the children’s world, dances and a live radio program, there will be musical performances by Los Vándalos and Quimbao La Nuit, among others. The candy will be distributed in exchange for a donation, since the event is also for solidarity purposes and what is raised will go to the social work of the Red Cross and Cáritas for the most needy families in the municipality.

The event will last until supplies last, so maximum collaboration is requested from the people who attend for the smooth development of the event. The event has become a benchmark for Christmas in the North of Tenerife.

The initiative is organized by the Commerce area of the La Orotava City Council and is another attraction for residents and visitors, in addition to helping to boost commercial activity.

The City Council sends special thanks to the group of Red Cross volunteers who will be collaborating during the organization of this event, and the involvement of the participating companies Manobuena and Panadería Jovita is also appreciated.
