Arafo will have a budget of 10.5 million in 2024

The Arafo City Council, after a long journey of hardship subject to an adjustment plan that began in 2012, will be able to use its second budgets with an investment chapter, in this case with 550,000 euros. Thus, the accounts for 2024 exceed 10 million euros for the first time; Specifically, it amounts to 10,592,791.60 euros, around one million more than the previous one.
In chapter 1 of personnel, the budget allocation for two police positions stands out, within the file already open and whose bases will be approved in January, and the budget allocation for the hiring of two general administration technicians.
Within chapter 6, investment, it should be noted that the majority of what is reflected in the budgets comes from the municipal part within the subsidies granted by the Cabildo and the Government of the Canary Islands, of almost 2.5 million. With this money, the comprehensive rehabilitation of the Pino leisure and craft center will be carried out, the adaptation and start-up of the Plaza de San Juan Degollado Kiosk, the rehabilitation of the Los Lavaderos BIC, the replacement of the auditorium roof Juan Carlos I, in addition to the installation of photovoltaic panels. The improvement of the roof of the César Rodríguez land is also contemplated. The Honey House will also be provided with an electricity supply, construction of new niches in the cemetery, in addition to the preparation of the municipal catalog of buildings to be protected.
According to the mayor, Juan Ramón Martín, “the municipal contribution is maintained through nominative subsidies to help in the cultural, sports and social promotion of the municipality, subsidizing 10 sports entities, seven cultural entities, two festival commissions and associations. in defense of animals, commercial and that of beekeepers.”
