The Civil Guard investigates two men in Tenerife for swindling more than 4,000 euros by pretending to be a bank

The Civil Guard is investigating two men, aged 22 and 26, for defrauding two people of more than 4,000 euros in Tenerife through internet links in which they pretended to be their bank.

As detailed by the Civil Guard, the accused, by sending fraudulent SMS, posed as a bank through a link so that the victims could enter their banking credentials and thus subsequently make charges on their cards without their authorization, consisting of purchases in commerce and transfers via Bizum.

Once the agents became aware of the alleged scam thanks to the complaints filed by the injured parties, they began an investigation with which they managed to obtain sufficient evidence that allowed them to identify and investigate the accused.

The two men benefited from the reported transfers they received into their checking accounts from the accounts of the injured parties without their authorization.

The proceedings carried out have been made available to the Investigative Court No. 3 of Granadilla de Abona.
