The Mayor of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, José Manuel Bermúdez, accompanied by the Councilor for Works and Infrastructure, Dámaso Arteaga; the councilor of Anaga, Inmacualada Fuentes, and the president of the AAVV El Pescador and the Ágora Women’s Association, verified yesterday the progress of the works of the remodeling of the San Andrés bridge with Anaga and that, “according to the construction management It will be operational for the passage of all types of vehicles, without weight limitation, before the first fortnight of next November, so we fully comply with the commitment acquired with the neighbors ”, argued the mayor.

Arteaga, for his part, argues that “in this infrastructure in which we have acted as an emergency, the current state of the execution of the works is in an advanced state, in such a way that we plan to open it to the passage of pedestrians and bicycles to throughout the day tomorrow, Friday, in such a way that this use can be made regularly “and he advances that” in the same way, we are in a position to anticipate that before next November 15, probably from the 10th, The bridge will be operational for all types of vehicles, so we are within the deadlines that we had foreseen ”.

In this section, the councilor of Anaga, who apologized for the presence of the president of the AAVV of Almáciga, insisted that “the speed of the work to reform this basic communication infrastructure between the town of San Andrés and Anaga is a success and demonstrates the commitment carried out by the Department of Works, and we must congratulate both the municipal technicians and the successful bidder for their involvement ”and added that“ we must also thank the military for the provisional infrastructure that has provided us with allowed, with some weight limitation, to save Anaga’s isolation ”.

For their part, both the neighborhood president, Gabriel Rodríguez, and his counterpart from the women’s association, Silvia Díaz, agreed by stating that “the City Council has more than complied, because the opening of the remodeled bridge for the transit of pedestrians and bicycles, such as the completion of the same for the passage of vehicles without weight limit ”and they add that“ precisely this good news means that the connection of the town of San Andrés with the Anaga massif will be recovered ”.

During the visit to the bridge works, he took the opportunity to inspect those carried out in the San Andrés sports center, popularly known as El Grupo, where the person in charge of its remodeling and conditioning explained the characteristics of this execution, “which is expected to conclude before the end of the year “, while the Councilor for Works explained that” in this project, in which we have been working in recent months, our intention is that it be concluded by Christmas, if no major setback occurs ”.

“The rhythm of the execution of works will increase – adds Arteaga – in this last section in which the provision of equipment is planned” and concludes stating that “in that sense, we are optimistic and we trust that at the end of December the town of San Andrés recovers a remodeled infrastructure that is to everyone’s liking for sports, leisure and recreation for the entire population of the area ”.
