The cemeteries are filled with flowers with the setting of graves and niches to remember loved ones. It has already happened throughout the week and the explosion will be Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Santa Cruz.

The Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council has coordinated a special security and traffic device in the surroundings of the different cemeteries of the municipality to facilitate the celebration of the All Saints festival. The operation starts today and will be very aware of the current situation derived from the Covid-19 health crisis. The measures articulated from the Citizen and Road Safety area have focused on the regulation of traffic in the surroundings of the Santa Lastenia cemetery. It takes place from 08:00 to 18:00, until Monday, on the main access roads. The hours of the municipal cemeteries will be from 08:00 to 18:00 from Friday to Monday. The usual opening takes place between 08:30 and 16:30.

This year, due to the works inside, the San Rafael and San Roque cemetery will not be opened. In the cemeteries of Santa Catalina (El Sobradillo), Taganana, Igueste de San Andrés and Punta de Anaga, the Local Police will arbitrate, in each case, the most appropriate measures to facilitate access to users. For its part, Titsa and the Santa Cruz City Council will launch line 932 on time, next Monday, November 1, All Saints’ Day, to facilitate the transfer to the Santa Lastenia cemetery. The service will start from the interchange at 07:05 and will remain operational until 18:00, with trips every hour. In the opposite direction, the 932 will make the first trip at 7:30 a.m. and the last at 6:30 p.m., with one-hour intervals. In addition, the company recalls that people who want to go by bus to the Santa Lastenia cemetery also have lines 903 and 923, which connect with the North Pier and Las Moraditas de Taco, with the usual hours of a public holiday.

The lagoon.

From seven in the morning to six in the afternoon. It is the opening hours of Sunday, October 31 and Monday, November 1 in the five cemeteries of the municipality of La Laguna. Two in its limits as the capital of the city, San Juan and San Luis. The other three in Valle de Guerra, Tejina and La Punta del Hidalgo. In these last three cases, several concerts are planned between tomorrow and Monday, at different times, by the Nuestra Señora de Lourdes (Valle de Guerra) music band, the San Sebastián band, in Tejina, and Crearte Unión Musical, in La Punta. of the Hidalgo.

The rosary.

The El Rosario City Council, through the Cemeteries area, has extended the hours of the municipal cemetery of La Esperanza until All Saints’ Day. In this way, it will remain open between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., instead of until 5:00 p.m. as it usually does, this Saturday and Sunday; while on Monday 1 it will be from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. It should be remembered that access to the cemetery is now completely free, without the need to request an appointment, as was necessary last year during these same dates due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Rosario Consistory has carried out refurbishment works in the enclosure for the next few days, in anticipation of the greater influx of people.

Tegueste.

The Villa de Tegueste will activate this weekend a special bus service to facilitate the transfer to the cemetery on the occasion of All Saints’ Day. This initiative seeks to avoid possible traffic jams and recalls that the Bellavista Street Urbanization Project is being carried out, so public transport is the most comfortable option to access the cemetery. The bus service, which will be operational from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for free, will leave from the Príncipe Felipe Theater, making a stop at El Baldío street, on the corner of Camino viejo street, in the direction of the Tegueste cemetery. . The mass for the dead will be celebrated in the cemetery itself on November 1, at 4:00 p.m., if the rain does not prevent it.

Tacoronte.

The Northern City Council has completed the renovation works of the municipal cemetery for a total value of 150,000 euros. During All Saints’ Day, the cemetery will present a series of improvements that provide comfort, accessibility and the renewed aesthetic image. Saturday, Sunday and Monday, it will open its doors from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., uninterruptedly so that families can join with all the peace of mind.

La Orotava.

On the occasion of the celebration of the days of All Saints and the Faithful Dead, November 1 and 2, the schedule of the Municipal Cemetery is extended to facilitate the visit and the enrame. From today until Monday the 1st it will be open from eight in the morning until seven in the afternoon. Citizens are advised, as usual, to take advantage of the 31st to make the enrame and renovate niches or pantheons. Access to the cemetery will be free, without the need to request an appointment like last year due to the health situation generated by the pandemic. However, there will be security to control the capacity of the venue. On this occasion, and also due to capacity, the religious celebrations will be held in the different parishes of the municipality. The accesses to the cemetery can be made from two sides, by San Francisco street and by the Lercaro Urbanization, although on this side where there are two doors, one will be left to access and another to exit. It is also recommended to use this area of ​​Lercaro for parking.

Los Realejos.

The Royal City Council has completed improvements in the three municipal cemeteries that will extend hours these days. In addition, on the occasion of the commemoration of the Saints Departed, concerts will be offered this Sunday and masses on Monday and Tuesday in the three cemeteries. In San Agustín in El Mocán, in San Antonio, in Icod el Alto, and in San Francisco, in Realejo Bajo, the municipal services company, Realserv, will set up special extended hours. The usual opening at 08:00 is maintained, but today the closing will be delayed at 7:00 p.m., while tomorrow, Sunday and Monday it will be extended until 9:00 p.m.

San Juan de la Rambla.

The cemeteries will remain open 24 hours a day. The extension of the service hours is carried out before the celebration of the weekend. Both the municipal and ecclesiastical cemetery will be available uninterruptedly from Saturday at 8 in the morning until Monday at 8 in the afternoon. To facilitate access, traffic will be restructured so that La Pascuala street, accessible from the Nineteenth of March, is in a single descending direction. This is how access to the municipal cemetery is completed from the TF-351 San José road, kilometer point 1,500. In the last few days, improvement works have been carried out on the installation, in addition to intensive cleaning.

Arona.

The City Council extends the hours of the Santa Salomé cemetery for All Saints’ Day and the Day of the Faithful. It will be from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., from Saturday to Tuesday. Likewise, masses will be celebrated, both on Monday and Tuesday, at 8:30, 12:00 and 17:30. It is recalled that part of the cemetery is under construction, so access is restricted for security reasons.

Santiago del Teide.

The city council extends the hours of the cemeteries. From today to Tuesday it will be from 08:00 to 20:00. He has also carried out different actions such as interior and exterior cleaning, in the cemeteries of Tamaimo, San Pedro, in Arguayo, and San Francisco, in the town of Santiago del Teide itself.

Finados as stage and background

Workshops, exhibitions and customs related to the world of the dead. Another way to face and remember the Day of the Dead. In this way, the Cabildo offers in Icod a course in candle making and an exhibition on mourning for Finados. Both activities are part of a project to rescue and disseminate these special days each year and aim to bring the traditions and rites related to death in the history of island society to the public. The Insular Handicraft Company and the Ibero-American Handicraft Museum of Tenerife (MAIT) carry out the Investigation, Rescue and Dissemination of the Day of Death project with the aforementioned candle shop and an exhibition of mourning clothing at the House of Andrés Lorenzo Cáceres in Icod during the first half of November. The first of the actions is aimed at schoolchildren and the second at the general public. The celebration of Finados Day is part of the identity of the island people, of their habits and popular customs that have been transmitted over time as part of the cultural heritage, and to which support and dissemination must be provided. The artisan candle shop is the art of creating products made with wax, in this case candles. It was one of the most widespread and reputed traditional crafts. The exhibition on mourning will be open from November 2 to 13 in the Hoya Ana Díaz Room of the Andrés de Lorenzo Cáceres House in Icod and can be visited from Monday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. hours. As for Los Santitos de San Juan de la Rambla, they return to the streets this Monday. The pandemic recovers the tradition of minors asking for entertainment at the houses in the center of the northern town.
