SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, December 19 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The president of the Canary Islands, Fernando Clavijo, announced today Tuesday in the regional Parliament that the public service obligation that links La Gomera with Gran Canaria by air will be guaranteed until December 31, 2025, a period in which some 27,000 places.

In response to a question from the spokesperson for the Gomera Socialist Group (ASG), Casimiro Curbelo, the president explained that as of January 1, 2024 and for a period of two years, this frequency of two direct daily flights between La Gomera and Gran Canaria.

Fernando Clavijo explained that, at least, 11,000 places will be offered in the winter season and 16,000 places in the summer season, so that the citizens of La Gomera will be able to have a direct connection with the two capital islands, both with Tenerife and with Gran Canaria.

For his part, Casimiro Curbelo highlighted the importance of public service obligations to unite the Canary Islands from a territorial and social point of view and to give equal opportunities to all Canary Islands, and indicated that since the direct connection with Gran Canaria, for the first time the La Gomera Airport has exceeded 100,000 passengers.
