SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, December 18 (EUROPA PRESS) –

This Monday, the Cabildo de Tenerife deactivated the Island Emergency Plan (PEIN) after ending the wind alert declared by the Security and Emergencies Directorate of the Government of the Canary Islands.

The island corporation preventively activated the PEIN early on Sunday due to the possibility of wind gusts exceeding 80 km/h in the areas affected by the fire.

This preventive activation implies express monitoring of the meteorological phenomenon, as well as making the island means and resources available if intervention is required, the corporation reports in a note.

In any case, the Cabildo recommends that the population take extreme precautions when traveling through the mountains and, especially, in the area affected by the fire due to the risk of falling trees, branches and landslides.
