Last Saturday, December 16, the largest nougat in the Canary Islands with a total of 25 meters long and 15 cm wide. From the hand of the chef Paul Pastor and his entire team was able to carry out this feat in a day in which different activities were carried out throughout the day such as a Christmas market, the performance of the Batucada Tamatimba, children’s workshops, among others and in which the Neighborhood Association collaborated La Paz de Tamaimo and the Association of Entrepreneurs and Merchants of Santiago del Teide (ASEMTEIDE)

To make the longest nougat in the Canary Islands, almost a hundred kilos of chocolate were used, both dark and white, 18 kg of almonds, 12 kg of gofio and between 5 and 6 kilos of cookies.

Mayor Emilio Navarro was in charge of cutting the nougat that began to be made early in the morning and which subsequently gave rise to the tasting of it by hundreds of people who filled Méndez Núñez Street in the town of Tamaimo.

The idea of organizing the event is next year to achieve the national record that is currently at 50 meters long.
