From the Works and Infrastructure area of the La Laguna City Council they confirmed yesterday that the last works that were missing in the Anchieta House in order to proceed with its opening. Specifically, they pointed out from the area, the forecast is that the action will be concluded before the 20th of this month, after which the administrative process of receiving the work will be formalized, which will foreseeably happen before the end of the year. .

However, despite this calendar, a date has not yet been set for the opening or visit of the 16th century property located in the area around Plaza del Adelantado, and declared BIC.

Regarding the work that is being carried out, it is worth remembering that last September the Area Councilor, Adolfo Cordobés, explained that the new contract had already been signed with the modified project for the definitive conclusion of the work for the opening of the building, and that They involve “painting works to unify the entire color of the property, the review of the carpentry and the placement of information plaques inside”, thus following the indications made at the time by the Historical Heritage Commission of the Cabildo. Likewise, at that time he also indicated that the tender for the museumization of the Casa Anchieta was being processed.

From 2021

It is worth remembering that the City Council began, at the beginning of 2021, the rehabilitation work on Casa Anchieta, with a budget of 710,000 euros and the expectation of having it completed in about seven months, although technical and logistical difficulties encountered during the works and other Issues have forced the project to be modified, which has lengthened the deadlines.

The work on the property has allowed its rehabilitation and adaptation to accessibility regulations, eliminating physical and communication barriers but without damaging its architectural values.
