SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Nov. 30 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Minister of Education of the Government of the Canary Islands, Poli Suárez, announced this Thursday that he will convene all the town councils in the south of Tenerife to evaluate the impact of population growth on education.

“In the coming weeks we will hold a meeting between the Ministry of Education and the mayors of the south of the island of Tenerife to analyze the population growth that exists in those municipalities and find a solution to the problem,” explained Suárez during a visit to the municipality of Santiago del Teide, while highlighting the importance of “listening to them” to “program and organize” a future solution.

For his part, the mayor, Emilio Navarro, thanked the commitment of the Department of Personalized Education in its owner “to work hand in hand and thinking about the future of Santiago del Teide”, and added that the City Council will carry out “the work that corresponds to expedite the needs of the municipality with the help of the regional government.”

On this visit, the Minister of Education, accompanied by the territorial director Adrián Delgado, toured different educational centers such as the future nursery school or the CEIP Feliciano Hernández García in the center of Santiago del Teide, also the CEIP Aurelio Emilio Acosta Fernández in Arguayo and the CEIP Tamaimo.

The mayor also highlighted the situation of the Puerto Santiago educational center “where there are more than 60 nationalities and what this means when teachers carry out their activity.”

Santiago del Teide joins the round of visits that the regional Minister of Education carries out to, from institutional coordination, plan actions and adopt the measures required to cover the needs of citizens in matters of education and sports.
