Torres says that the PGE “are better” than in previous years and PP and CC condemn the breach of the REF

SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Oct 26 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The President of the Government of the Canary Islands, Ángel Víctor Torres, said this Tuesday that the General State Budgets (PGE) of the State of 2022 “are better” than in previous years and a “good” starting point for parliamentary processing in the middle of the criticisms of PP and CC in the control session for the breach of the REF and the Statute.

The president has commented before the Plenary of the Chamber that the PP “would have to start apologizing” because from 2012 to 2016 they “marginalized” the Canary Islands “with the worst” budgets in their history, leaving “zero” the employment plan , funds for poverty, housing and even with a sharp cut in the highway agreement and for which the central government was condemned.

Torres has insisted that “all the parameters improve” even over the PGE of 2018, promoted by the PP as the best in the history of the archipelago, and also improve all the REF games.

He has also valued that the accounts keep the largest investment in the last ten years, the suspension of fiscal rules and 50 million for migration, and with “guarantees” that they will be approved in Congress.

In addition, he stated that “it is better” to have PGE than an extended budget because it “limits” the capacity of the governments and in “complex and difficult times” for the islands it is committed to having state and regional budgets next year.

Torres, citing the writer Javier Marías, has accused CC of “opposing” everything the Government does and has shown his disbelief with his refusal to support the accounts when those of 2018, endorsed by the nationalists, had less funds for poverty , transport investments, Posei, tourist infrastructures or the ZEC. “Now they revile him,” he said.

And on the possible breach of the REF, he has defended that there are 8 million for supply water and 8.5 million for irrigation water, 42 million for PIEC, 47.5 million for transport and 59 million for merchandise, plus the 75 bonuses. % for residents.

Likewise, he explained that even if the 200 million of the road agreement were eliminated, investment in the islands would be above the national average, noting that the current Government of the Canary Islands, unlike the previous one, has managed to recover the funds of the agreement.

PP: CLIENTELISM AND INEQUALITY

The spokesperson for the Popular Group, Australia Navarro, has said that the state accounts “consolidate inequality and patronage” and “are not to be trusted” because they “hide a fiscal sablaza” and the forecasts of income and expenses “are not real” and They “reward” the partners of Pedro Sánchez.

Thus, it has warned that the PGE place the Canary Islands in thirteenth place in investment and in the penultimate place in investment per capita, apart from the fact that the REF and the Statute are again “breached” in up to eleven precepts.

Likewise, he has accused the Canarian Executive of “mixing” the investments with the REF, the transfers and the agreements to save the accounts in an exercise of “shameful trilerism” when “there is only a pyrrhic increase” of 183 million and being the Canary Islands the community autonomous “most punished” by the pandemic.

For this reason, he urged Torres to “convince” the PSOE to “improve” the budgets, highlighting that “little or nothing paints” in the national concert with respect to Catalonia.

CC: THE ACCOUNTS “OVERCOME” THE RIGHTS OF THE CANARY ISLANDS

Nira Fierro, president of the Socialist Group, has commented that the PGE “are expansive” and are committed to the welfare state and recovery, with a “record” in investment thanks to European funds.

Likewise, he has said that they are the PGE that “best treat the Canary Islands”, with an investment well above the average and that they “comply” with REF and the Statute, and he hopes that they will improve during the parliamentary process, hence he has requested to the political forces that have representation in Congress that “are responsible” for not slowing down the economic recovery in the islands.

Pablo Rodríguez, president of the Nationalist Group, has said that CC “will never” be an “accomplice” of some PGEs that “trample” the rights of the Canaries and “violate” the REF because there is no comprehensive plan to face the migratory crisis , there is no plan for hydraulic works, the items for transport in the primary sector are not met, there is no specific item for La Palma and the same employment funds are counted as before Covid-19 when the Canary Islands have been the largest community punished.

Likewise, he has accused the Executive of “cheating” to justify that the PGE place the Canary Islands above the investment average by incorporating the 200 million of highway debt as a new investment.
