The residents of the La Quinta area, in the municipality of Santa Úrsula, in Tenerife, demonstrated yesterday to demand more public lighting from the City Council and the reception of the two urbanizations of the place. Under the slogan For a Quinta with light, the residents walked the distance that separates the municipal swimming pool from the Town Hall building.
The residents in the two urbanizations, who had already announced the protests since last July, showed their “fed up” by what they consider an “eternal urban conflict” between the City Council and the promoter companies, which prevent the reception and improvement of the infrastructures and services in the area.
From the La Quinta de Chimaque Neighborhood Association they complained about the poor condition of the sidewalks, the potholes in the roads, the lack of lighting and security.
They also denounce “the dirt, the problems in sanitation and the proliferation of even rats at some times of the year.”
According to those affected, the reception of the two developments should be expedited “as soon as possible” to be able to resolve these demands and end the problems.
