Finished the 10 days trial closing time, between 06:30 and 09:00, of exit 14 of Guamasa to the TF-5, direction Santa Cruz, and the diversion of its traffic along the TF-235to try to improve mobility at this point on the highway, yesterday the Cabildo made a first positive assessment of said measure, which will be drawn up today, thus will reopen the link “And we will have the usual traffic” from before the test, explained yesterday the Minister of Highways, Dámaso Arteaga.

The Cabildo has set a period of approximately 15 days to analyze the data obtained during the test and make a decision based on them. While waiting to study the data collected in depth, the counselor assessed yesterday that, “since we implemented the measure, there have been days when traffic has behaved differently, there was even a rainy day that always influences the traffic; However, today (yesterday) there have been no delays except in Portezuelo and the fluidity on the TF-5 has been evident throughout the test.”

In this sense, the president of the Cabildo, Rosa Dávila, stated yesterday, in the press conference after the Government Council, that “clearly what the a priori data show is a notable improvement in the flow of traffic on the TF-5 ” and that “we have also noted improvements on the TF-235 and TF-152”, where users and neighbors have been reporting traffic jams. She also highlighted that “it is important to note that in these 10 days of testing there has not been any type of accident in the area.”

Dávila commented that “the trial period concludes and now we enter the assessment period where all the analyzes will be done. And the objective of the Cabildo is to improve the conditions of all citizens and the results of the test will be those that indicate the decisions made by the Cabildo, and with the help of the DGT, with the information from the Civil Guard, and the town councils, because we have worked with the technical team of the Mobility Area of the La Laguna City Council and the mayor himself.” “All opinions will be taken into account, including those of the neighbors,” he said.

Arteaga indicated that the analysis work will last for about two weeks, “three at most, and we will try to make a decision with objective data, with planning, where appropriate, for improvement work and even decisions regarding infrastructures.” short term that we can correct or improve links” to alleviate the retentions of the TF-235 and TF-152.
