SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Nov. 8 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Cabildo of Tenerife has made a first positive assessment of the tests carried out on the Guamasa interchange consisting of the diversion of traffic along the secondary roads TF-235 and TF-152 with the aim of improving mobility on the Autopista del Norte (TF -5), waiting to analyze the data obtained in depth.

In a press conference to report on the agreements of the Government Council, the president, Rosa Dávila, said that there is a “notable improvement” in the TF-5 since the measure was decided and this Wednesday, even the circulation It has been “more fluid” on secondary roads.

He has indicated that the final decision, which will be made within a maximum period of two or three weeks, will not be made based on what “the body” asks but rather based on the analysis of the data and “listening” to the opinions of all the parties involved such as the Civil Guard, the La Laguna City Council or the Cabildo’s own Highway service.

Dávila has also assessed that there have been no accidents in the Guamasa area and that all opinions “will be taken into account” apart from the fact that it will be studied what type of works are necessary and how long they can be done to improve the situation. circulation of drivers in the neighborhoods of La Laguna.

The Minister of Highways, Dámaso Arteaga, pointed out in a note that since the measure was implemented “there have been days when traffic has behaved differently, there was even a rainy day that always influences traffic.”

However, he noted that this Wednesday “no delays have been recorded except in El Portezuelo and the fluidity in the TF-5 has been evident throughout the test.”

The measures applied in Guamasa began last Wednesday, October 25 and were extended until this Wednesday.

The test was agreed upon and the Laguna City Council was informed at all times with the holding of two meetings, with the Guamasa Neighborhood Association and with the collaboration of the Traffic Group of the Civil Guard who were in charge of traffic regulation. in the existing roundabouts on the two secondary roads parallel to the TF-5, they point out from the Cabildo.

Thus, starting this Thursday, normal circulation will resume and the link to the TF-5 will be open near Guamasa.
