This Saturday, the Tenerife South airport It was overwhelmed by kilometer-long queues of passengers trying to take a taxi upon arrival on the Island.

The images of the situation that occurred at the venue have been spread on social networks and have unleashed the indignation of the Canary Islands. “This cannot happen in an airport that is among the top five in Spain and on an island that is a top-level tourist destination. It is intolerable,” protested journalist Javi Rodríguez after sharing the video on Twitter (X).

His tweet has generated a wave of responses. Some users argue that Tenerife is dealing with an overpopulation of tourists, which is affecting the quality of life of residents.

“Maybe we have to stop with tourism a little. Collapsed roads in the south, there are almost no long-term rental apartments, rising prices in supermarkets in tourist areas, public buses overwhelmed with tourists…”, pointed out one of them.
