The island corporation, in a statement, has highlighted that Tenerife begins its presence at the World Travel Market (WTM) in London, which is held from November 6 to 9 in the British capital, with “excellent prospects.”

The president of the Cabildo, Rosa Dávila, highlights “the privileged position of Tenerife in the United Kingdom, a market that is very loyal to the island and that has discovered the multitude of experiences it offers to the British traveler, whose expectations when visiting the island are greatly exceeded.” positively.”

“We are checking how this traveler values ​​not only enjoying the sun and the beach, but also all the different offerings that Tenerife offers such as climate, nature, sports, culture or gastronomy,” he adds.

The Vice President and Tourism Councilor of the Cabildo, Lope Afonso, emphasizes the relevance for Tenerife of being present in a new edition of the WTM, “in a market like the British one, the main issuer of the total number of travelers who spend their holidays in the island”, and a destination that is also the one that receives the largest number of British travelers in the entire Canary Islands, 40% of all those received by the archipelago.

The CEO of Tenerife Tourism, Dimple Melwani, emphasizes the need to continue strengthening actions in the United Kingdom to contribute to this consolidation of leadership in 2024.

“Thus, we focus on actions to reach segments such as golf, bicyclehiking, etc., which allow the traveler to enjoy other experiences throughout the year thanks to the excellent climate we have,” he adds.

The airlines (and their corresponding tour operators) Easyjet, Jet2, British Airways, online agencies such as Lastminute.com or Destinia, TUI, Travelzoo, Amadeus or Bspoke Tours are some of the companies with which the island’s representation will hold meetings, in addition to which will be celebrated with media outlets such as Travel Weekly, Travel Gossip or TTG.

The presence of the island in this edition of the WTM is accompanied by an eye-catching promotional action that aims to capture the attention of the end customer and potential traveler.

Thus, with one broadcast per minute during the three days of the fair, a video of Tenerife will be projected on the large-format outdoor screens of two of the busiest shopping centers in the city, Westfield Stratford City Westfield London.
