The Fairgrounds becomes the capital of fashion and weddings

Pedro Martín, the Minister of Socioeconomic Development and Employment, Carmen Luz Baso, and the island director of the area, Ermitas Moreira, have sponsored the XVI edition of Feboda and the Fashion Fair that will remain open until tomorrow in the large warehouse of the Fairgrounds . More than 8,000 square meters of exhibition space with the participation of 80 companies in 117 stands, 48 dedicated to fashion and 69 to weddings.

The Island, according to Pedro Martín, claims “a sector that seems small, but is strategic”

“The opportunity to be here is, to say the least, festive; I have visited these facilities to accommodate SCS stretchers, nurses and staff; Today we have the opportunity to dress the Fairgrounds in color and it is a great joy ”, said the president. «To speak of Feboda and Fashion is to vindicate a strategic sector, which has managed to resist despite the enormous difficulties to generate a product that can go out; those signs of identity, positively, we need them ”, assures Pedro Martín.

Carmen Luz Baso has insisted on the need to continue supporting “these sectors, both weddings and fashion and design, in general, to give continuity to the support that we have been offering from the Cabildo.”

Last Wednesday, the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands (BOC) published the grants for designers who want to go to fashion shows and fairs for a total of 110,000 euros. The Cabildo may collaborate with an amount of up to 10,000 maximum per company or designer.

Feboda is the largest gathering of weddings and celebrations in the Canary Islands. There the fashion industry in Tenerife and in the Archipelago, in general, will once again offer participating companies the possibility of maintaining direct contact with their potential clients. These annual trade fairs will bring together entities with a wide range of accommodation, specialized professional photography and video, makeup, jewelry and alliances, styling, flower arrangements, vehicles for the occasion, organization of events, trips, in a single and large area. animation and music, accessories, weddingplanner, that is wedding planning and a long list of sectors that will have a significant boost after almost a year of paralysis with the support of the Cabildo, and the Tenerife Fair Institution «which this year have decided to reduce 25% the price to participate in Feboda », highlights Carmen Luz Baso.

For four euros

The ticket price will be four euros per day with the possibility of acquiring a discount voucher of eight for the three days of the fair that can be purchased the same day at the box office.

Among the meeting points open between Feboda and the Tenerife Fashion Fair is the open catwalk, which one more year will show the new collections and trends of the main designers and prestigious brands.

More than 5,000 people visited this Fair in 2019. It is the last benchmark to compare because last year the pandemic forced development to be virtual. The firms that come together this year hope, like the Cabildo, that on this occasion the influx of the public “will meet all expectations.”

The counselor has pointed out that the intention of her area is to “reinforce all the possibilities that are within our reach so that the productive sectors of the Island are consolidated and last.” And in this sense, fashion occupies a strategic place in the possible industrial development of the future.
