VALVERDE (EL HIERRO), Nov. 3 (EUROPA PRESS) –
A migrant who was admitted to the El Hierro Hospital after arriving at the port of La Estaca on Thursday night aboard a canoe with 83 people on board has died, sources from the Government’s Health Department confirm to Europa Press. from the Canary Islands.
The man was admitted in a very serious condition and three others are still hospitalized in serious condition – in total up to eight occupants of the canoe were referred to the hospital for various health problems.
In addition, two other migrants who arrived in a cayuco to La Restinga with 70 people on board this Friday morning were taken to the hospital with dehydration.
This is the fourth migrant to die since the migratory route between El Hierro, Senegal and Gambia was reactivated this summer, and the first three have been buried in the cemeteries of Valverde, La Frontera and El Pinar.
