NEW FLIGHTS TENERIFE | Tenerife will have a new direct route to northern Europe

Tenerife, one of the national tourism headquarters, will have a new line that will fully connect you with the northern part of Europe hand in hand with the flag airline of Latvia, airBaltic.

The company has launched a direct route between Tallinn and Tallinn airport Tenerife South. The operation, which began operating last Monday, will link the capital of Estonia with the island twice a week with an Airbus A220-300 with capacity for 148 passengers.

The vice president and advisor of Tourism of the Tenerife Council, Lope Afonsoassures in a note that “The island strengthens its leadership position in the winter season through a new route with the Baltic countriesa market that, although it is not significant now in the number of visitors, does offer a potential for exponential growth with successive increases in the influx of visitors from those countries.”

This direct connection with Tallinn, he indicates, “It allows us to have a double weekly frequency to strengthen this market in the winter campaign.“.

The CEO of Tourism of Tenerife, Dimple Melwani, highlights the importance of the new route, since “it improves connectivity with a growing market for the island, especially in the winter season.”

In this sense, it highlights “the evolution of passengers arriving from Estonia in 2022, which registered a growth of 49% compared to the previous year.”

In the first nine months of the year, 4,402 passengers have arrived in Tenerife from the Baltic country, both on regular and charter flights, according to the analysis of the Tenerife Tourism Research department.

Regarding the evolution in numbers of passengers arriving from Estonia, during 2022, 8,253 passengers arrived on the island compared to 5,540 in 2021.

From this evolution of passengers from this country, the preference of visitors to travel between the months of January to April and October to December is identified, maintaining stable operations this season.
