A man accused of drugging and abusing a woman in Tenerife is on trial



The Provincial Prosecutor’s Office of Santa Cruz de Tenerife will ask next week that a man be sentenced to nine years in prison and pay 100,000 euros in civil liability to a woman whom he allegedly sexually abused after drugging her.

The events would have taken place in the early morning hours, when the accused allegedly went to the house where the victim was drinking alcohol and smoking shisha in the company of some friends. Once they were alone he offered her a cup that contained substances that nullified his will.

Subsequently, he took her to her house in La Laguna and once inside, taking advantage of the absence of people and the state in which the woman was, he raped her without a condom and without her being able to give her consent due to the substances he used. had ingested.

The result was that when the victim woke up she had injuries to her chest and back, which were not particularly serious, and after filing a complaint at the La Laguna Police Station, a precautionary measure was imposed on the accused not to approach within 500 meters.

Among the requests made by the Prosecutor’s Office is, precisely, to maintain this distance from the alleged victim for ten years after leaving prison.

In that same period of time, the convicted person would be on probation and would have to participate in a sexual education program.
