The Cabildo of Tenerife has allocated a total of 136,464.61 euros to a call for aid for the control of traceability in the harvest of quality wines from Tenerife, to which a total of four applications were submitted, corresponding to the Councils Regulators of the Denominations of Origin of the Valley of La Orotava, Abona, Güímar and Tacoronte-Acentejo.
The Minister of the Primary Sector, Valentín González, has indicated that the Cabildo “is committed to a line of work to support Tenerife producers, contributing to the promotion and strengthening of this important economic sector”, and explained that this subsidy is intended to support the control of origin, quality and traceability of Tenerife wines.
In this way, a total of 79 wineries and 3,343 winegrowers will benefit from this subsidy, whose objective is to “strengthen the wine sector of Tenerife, in an adverse economic and climatic context, so that the island continues to be a benchmark in wine production.” quality”.
The subsidy is intended to cover staff costs, training and expenses derived from carbon footprint certification entities.
