The rescue operation began around 7:30 a.m., when the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (Cecoes) 1-1-2 informed the Maritime Rescue Coordination Center of the receipt of a call from a boat that was near the coast of Tenerife.
Minutes later, the Civil Guard also informed the Coordination Center of a suspicious echo, a possible boat, about 13 miles from Tenerife, so Maritime Rescue mobilized the ‘Alpheratz’ rescue boat, which around 09:00 hours spotted the barge and proceeded. to escort him to the port of Los Cristianos.
The Canarian Emergency Service (SUC) and the Red Cross have already mobilized the resources appropriate to the intervention to care for the people who have arrived at the dock and the Red Cross has provided hygiene kits, clothing, footwear, blankets and food. .
