SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Oct. 26 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Canary Islands Command, in its line of dissemination of Defense culture, has presented the program of events on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the transfer of the Headquarters of the General Captaincy to Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

The presentation was attended by the General Chief of the General Staff of the Canary Islands Command, Luis Cortés Delgado, accompanied by the colonel in the reserve Jesús Castillo Culsán, graduated in History from the University of La Laguna.

The celebration marked by the motto ‘Honoring the past, looking at the future’, in the words of General Cortés, aims to make known the military history in the Canary Islands, in addition to increasingly linking a union with the civilian population in which Citizens can actively participate in these events.

The activities will take place between November 3 and 10 and will include open days at the General Captaincy Palace and the photographic exhibition ‘300 years of the General Captaincy of the Canary Islands’, located in the central patio, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. hours, concerts by the Music Unit of the Canary Islands Command.

Likewise, on November 7, a conference will take place at the Real Casino de Tenerife by Colonel Jesús Castillo Culsán at 7:00 p.m. And on November 9, the solemn flag-raising will take place in Weyler Square at 12:00 p.m.
